Company Overview
We are a growing property management and real estate organization seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. This company manages a diverse portfolio of commercial and/or residential properties and offers a stable environment, strong leadership, and opportunities for long-term growth.
Job Summary
The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for managing the full-cycle accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices and payments. This role plays a critical part in supporting accounting operations and maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Responsibilities
- Process high-volume vendor invoices accurately and in a timely manner
- Review invoices for proper coding, approvals, and supporting documentation
- Enter invoices into the accounting system and ensure accurate general ledger coding
- Prepare and process check runs, ACH payments, and wire transfers
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
- Maintain organized and accurate accounts payable records
- Assist with month-end close processes as needed
- Support accounting team with additional administrative and accounting tasks
Qualifications
- 2+ years of accounts payable experience required
- Experience in property management, real estate, or related industry preferred
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with property management accounting software such as Yardi, MRI, AppFolio, or similar systems
- Experience processing high-volume invoices
- Understanding of general ledger and accounting principles
