Senior Accountant – Oil & Gas
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid)
A growing oil & gas organization is seeking a Senior Accountant to support accounting operations within the Land & Resource Management function. This role will work closely with leadership and contribute to key financial reporting, analysis, and compliance activities.
Responsibilities:
- Review and record monthly oil & gas royalty revenue
- Prepare depletion and impairment analyses
- Record and review ad valorem tax accruals and payments
- Maintain accurate well records in MineralSoft
- Prepare financial reports and KPI analysis for management
- Assist with monthly close, journal entries, and account reconciliations
- Perform variance (flux) analysis
- Support audit requests and ensure GAAP compliance
- Assist with mineral acquisitions and onboarding of new assets
- Collaborate across departments to support accounting processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 3+ years of accounting experience
- Oil & gas experience required
- Public accounting or publicly traded company experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP
- Experience supporting audits
- MineralSoft experience preferred
- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred
